The Pedestal is designed to point a very large/heavy High Powered Microwave (HPM) Antenna and Payload at a single UAV drone, or drone swarm, allowing the Directed Energy payload to counter the threat. The RPM Model PT-1800 Series Direct Drive Antenna Positioning System is designed for extremely high precision RF and Video tracking of fast moving targets. RPM is in current production of three different variants of this Antenna Positioning System, which can be used for RF tracking, video tracking and directed energy applications.
The RPM Model PG-1019B Series Pedestal has a gear driven Elevation over Azimuth configuration, and is designed with a slip ring in Azimuth for continuous rotation. This design allows the Antenna System to track Predator Aircraft and provide line of sight communication and high speed data downlink while this unmanned aircraft is flying, to provide full awareness to a remotely located pilot.
RPM Model RG-2054 Series Dual Drive Elevation Only Antenna Positioner for MIT/LL to be used on the Multi-Phased Array Radar - Advanced Technology Demonstrator (MPAR-ATD) program. This program is funded through a grant from NOAA in order to further the development of the next generation version of the NEXRAD doppler weather radar network.
